WINTER - Snowboarding and Skiing
Our goal in this program is to provide children with access to alpine skiing sports such as snowboarding and alpine skiing, so that children can experience extreme sensations that will help them for a while and later for a longer period to improve their emotional state and reduce the experiences associated with military operations, forced displacement, separation from relatives and friends, as well as to survive the loss of loved ones.
Our program consists of phased steps that, in turn, if each is implemented, will create a comprehensive program of assistance through winter sports for children who have received psychological and physical trauma due to Russia’s aggression in Ukraine.
How it works?
Step 1
Points for free rental of alpine skiing equipment
At this stage, with the help of local authorities, it is planned to open such points in the cities of Kyiv and Ivano-Frankivsk. These two locations will provide a relatively large coverage of children due to their size and infrastructure – like Kyiv.
In turn, Ivano-Frankivsk provides maximum accessibility to a larger number of ski resorts in Ukraine.
Step 2
Organization of free ski passes and training at ski resorts in Ukraine
Given the rather high cost of ski passes, an agreement on their free provision or partial compensation will allow attracting wider segments of the population to the programs implemented by our organization.
Free training for beginners will allow keeping children involved in these sports for as long as possible.
Step 3
Organization of free children's winter camps
This step will allow us to finally form a structure for providing assistance to affected children; in these camps, children will not only engage directly in ski sports, but also specialists in various fields will work with them – such as psychotherapists, physiotherapists, family psychologists and others. The main goal of these camps will be to distance children as much as possible from the problems of war that haunt them.
